Chris Hughton was eager to sign the former Scunthorpe United man in January but failed to meet the asking price with three separate bids. The former Newcastle boss is now looking at making another move for the 25-year-old as he looks to try and bolster his squad ahead of the new term. Hooper has made it clear that he would love to play in the Premier League but it is uncertain whether the Scottish champions will be willing to sell. Neil Lennon revealed that the club had turned down an offer from Premier League new boys Hull on Tuesday after their valuation of the striker fell short. It is understood that Hughton is looking to broker a deal worth around £5million for the man who has netted 63 goals in 95 appearances since moving to Scotland.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert today launched another raid on former club Norwich after the club confirmed the capture of goalkeeper Jed Steer.
The 20-year-old will join Villa on July 1 once his contract at Carrow Road expires and becomes the club’s sixth summer signing.
He played under Lambert at the Canaries and will join coaches Scott Marshall, Michael Watts and Chris Lorkin who have moved from Norfolk this week.
The England under-19 international made just two appearances at Norwich – both in the FA Cup – and was loaned out to Yeovil and Cambridge.

Norwich City are reportedly the latest Premier League club interested in securing the services of Wigan Athletic striker Arouna Kone.
The Ivory Coast forward signaled his intention to leave the DW Stadium last weekend, revealing that he has received offers from a number of unnamed teams.
Everton and West Bromwich Albion have been leading the race for Kone's signature but Norwich manager Chris Hughton is also prepared to meet his £5m release clause, according to the Daily Mail.
Canaries boss Hughton has already secured the services of Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel for next season, but is desperate to bolster his squad with added firepower.
Kone scored 13 goals in his first season for Wigan, helping the club win the FA Cup but failed to keep the Latics in the top flight.

CHRIS HUGHTON says a home game is the ideal launchpad for the Canaries as they begin their third consecutive season in the Premier League by hosting Everton.
City will welcome the Toffees on August 17 to kick-off the 2013-14 campaign in what will be Roberto Martinez’s first competitive match in charge since taking over from David Moyes at Goodison Park.
Hughton said he recognises the challenge against a team who secured a top-six finish in the division last time around, but is looking forward to beginning the season at Carrow Road – the first time this has happened since City were promoted two years ago.

Birmingham City have signed midfielder Tom Adeyemi from Premier League side Norwich on a free transfer.
The 21-year-old, who was out of contract at Carrow Road this summer, joins the Blues on a two-year-deal.
Adeyemi has spent most of his career out on loan, making more than 100 appearances during spells at Bradford, Oldham and last season at Brentford.
